On the 17th of March Cambridge Hub is joining forces with Hackers at Cambridge in an exciting new initiative to develop technology for good causes.
Fri 17th Mar, 10am — 10pm
William Gates Building Cambridge
ChariTech is a 12-hour hackathon taking place on March 17th – if you’re not sure what a hackathon is, then the pictures from our last event should provide some insight.
There will be around 100 people competing as teams to create tech projects which tackle some real-life problems faced by charities today.
Information for Charities
As a charity, your job is simply to provide some project ideas for teams to tackle, and some mentors to help guide the teams on the day.
There’s no correct answer to what level of challenge you should set, as the abilities and achievements of groups will vary greatly. It is important, however, that the projects are accessible and have a clear vision such that teams can quickly pick up and run with the ideas.
ChariTech provides a great way to get some of the worlds brightest minds to give you a hand with real problems that you may be facing. It will also be a great way to engage more people with the work that you are doing, and your goals as an organisation.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Hackers at Cambridge via Facebook to register your interest. If you would like to know more about hackathons generally or would like more advice regarding your ideas, please contact Charlie Crisp .
