Student Hubs carries out a wide program of events across the Hub network which work to inspire and incubate student social enterprise. In delivering this program we work with some major partners including social innovation organisations, corporate social responsibility funds and academic centre of social enterpreneurship.
INSPIRE
Delivered in partnership with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Student Hubs' flagship Social Enterprise event is EMERGE, the leading conference on student social entrepreneurship in the UK. The conference brings together students with international social innovators and global entrepreneurs. Emerge is about "what's next": the big ideas, the future leaders, the driving forces challenging the status quo. It brings to the forefront the new models, markets and movers of transformational change.
We also work to support regular mini Social Enterprise conference across the network in Bristol, Cambridge, Warwick, Southampton and London.
INCUBATE
Apart from the Conference itself, the EMERGE program also includes the Emerge Venture Lab. The Lab is a fellowship program which provides seed-funding, mentorship and tailored support to early-stage student ventures with high-impact potential.
Student Hubs also runs a project incubator called HubWorks which offers training and support to students looking to set up small charities, community volunteering projects or awareness-raising organisations.
We also work in association with some large partners, including UnLtd, to incubate student social enterprise through a program of training and resource-sharing. In 2011 we kicked off the Hub Incubator, a stand-alone program designed to give a select number of student startups access to our resources and network to get their ventures off the ground.
The Student Hubs Social Enterprise program is kindly sponsored by BarCap.
